Art classes for the Elementary School or Home school Educator!


4 Monkeys is pleased to offer classes to both Elementary teachers and Home school educators!  Learn a variety of techniques and lesson plan ideas to implement in your home or classroom.  Receive the opportunity to do a hands on project and get lesson plans with curriculum expectations included.  Meet new people, BYOB and snacks and enjoy an hour and a half of creativity!  Classes run every other Tuesday at 7:30 - 9:00pm.  Cost is $20 per person.  Sign up for one or all of them!  To register please fill out the form at the bottom of the page.

**When you come for the first time you will receive a package that includes handouts on the elements and principles of design**

Class 6: April 22 - Learn to use foil for art projects!  Two different approaches will be examined.  By the end of class you will leave with 2 examples of this technique made by you, a lesson plan   and a variety of cross-curriculum ideas that can be done using this technique!  This is useful for K-8.  Space is limited to 8 participants.
Class 1: Date TBA - Learn to do oil resist!  A versatile technique that can be used for a wide variety of art projects. By the end of class you will leave with 2 examples of this technique made by you, a lesson plan (with Ontario curriculum expectations included)  and a variety of cross-curriculum ideas that can be done using this technique!  This is useful for K-8.  Space is limited to 8 participants.

Class 2:  Date TBA - Learn to do chalk pastel!  Messy but fun :)  By the end of class you will leave with 2 examples of this technique made by you, a lesson plan (with Ontario curriculum expectations included) and a variety of ideas that can be done using this technique!  This is useful for K-8.  Space is limited to 8 participants.

Class 3: Date TBA - Learn to do tissue paper painting!  By the end of class you will leave with one (or 2) example(s) of this technique made by you, a lesson plan (with Ontario curriculum expectations included) and a variety of ideas that can be done using this technique!  This is useful for K-8.  Space is limited to 8 participants.

Class 4: Date TBA - Learn how to make your own scratch paper!  By the end of class you will leave with one example of this technique made by you (or 2 if time permitting), a lesson plan (with Ontario curriculum expecations included) and a variety of cross-curricular ideas that can be done using this technique!  This is useful for 1-8.  Space is limited to 8 participants.

Class 5:  Learn basic printmaking techniques!  Learn how to use Styrofoam plates to make great prints in the classroom!  By the end of class you will leave with 1 example of this technique made by you, a lesson plan and a variety of cross-curriculum ideas that can be done using this technique!  This is useful for GR 2-8.  Space is limited to 8 participants.
